Ruth's Chris Steak House - Ann Arbor: A Premier Destination for Steak Lovers

I've only been to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse once and that was several years ago in Las Vegas. It was probably about 18 years ago. The only complaint I had about that visit was that I was there by myself. I bought one of their "smaller" steaks, but they really don't serve smaller steaks. I believe it came with a baked potato and a house salad, which were both fine. But you don't go to this restaurant for the side dishes. You go for the meat! I've had some excellent steaks in my life, but none approach the impeccable quality, cut, cooking, and service of this steak. It's definitely not cheap, but again, you don't go there for a cheap steak. It was cooked to perfection, medium, well, which is what I ordered. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the exquisite flavor is something I'll never forget. The price for this 2007-ish meal for one was about $100 + tip. Absolutely, 100% worth every penny!

Some might think this is a bit pricey, and they'd be right, but when you consider the quality of the meal, it's well worth it. My son treated us to dinner here and we all ordered the filet mignon. Hands down the BEST steak we have ever had. If you aren't on a budget and you love an exceptional steak, try Ruth's Chris Steak House. On second thought, even if you ARE on a budget, you deserve to treat yourself! Highly recommend.

Based on expectation from what I'd heard about the place the sides were underwhelming, but the MEAT!!!!!OMG. Literally EVERYTHING ELSE was amazing. I've been itching to get there and my sweetheart took me for my birthday. The lamb chops..... PERFECTION his steak PERFECTION dessert... you guessed it PERFECTION. We WILL be back. Our server was just excellent! Very knowledgeable and informative and NICE. he made us feel at home. So excited to return.

This was our first time going to Ruth Chris, and we had an amazing experience all around. The food, drinks, and service were all top notch. The appetizer was delicious and came out so quickly. Loved our drinks, and the main course was so good that I ate my left overs cold because I didn’t want to wait on the microwave lol. Highly recommend this restaurant. Can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely LOVELY! We've been to 4 different Ruth's Chris locations, and each time has been a wonderful experience from the moment we walk through the doors. This particular time, the hostess asked if we were there for a special occasion, and we said, "Yes, our 25th wedding anniversary." She thanked us for choosing Ruth's Chris to celebrate, which we found thoughtful and kind. The service is topnotch... you can just tell that there's no skimping when they hire and train the staff. The food is ridiculously good! This visit we ordered the sweet potato dish to go with the steak, and it was *out of this world*! We almost ordered a 2nd one... it was that divine! It had this amazing pecan pie crust and pecans and cinnamon sprinkled all over the top... OMG! My husband and I couldn't get enough! The steak was cooked and seasoned just perfectly. The shoestring fries are an absolute must... super thin and crispy! Everything about our meal was sublime. And then, before our lovely server brought the check, she presented us with the "Happy Anniversary Cheesecake" compliments of the restaurant! Not many establishments will do anything like that anymore... just goes to show what a step above Ruth's Chris is

We have been enjoying Ruth Chris for many years. This year we went for my birthday 8/3. My husband likes to eat dinner early so we were the first table to be seated this day. We enjoyed an appetizer with the yummy bread and I had a delicious salad. We also tried the bottle water and the tap water we couldn’t tell the difference. We ordered dinner and sides and were pleased with our food. This is when everything went bad. Our empty plates sat in front of us for 25 minutes. I even asked for them to be removed and a dessert menu brought out to us. At this point I went downstairs to the hostess area and asked for a manager. Ashley was the manager and I told her I was upset that the plates had not been removed and no dessert menu brought to us. We felt that our waitress was busy with a large table and was not finishing with our table and another two top in the room that was experiencing the same problems. I also said I was disappointed that a manager had not stopped by our table to check on how our dinner was. Ashley’s replay was that she had not had time to get upstairs yet to check on tables. Remember we were the first to be seated and this was over 2 hours later! Very disappointing! She did say what can I do for you. I said I just wanted someone to know of our disappointment with our dining experience. I went to the restroom and when I came back Ashley was at the top of the stairs and the plates were removed from our table. Our waitress brought out a treat for my birthday a small strawberry cheesecake with a candle, nice presentation. She also put 3 forks out for everyone at the table to have a bite. She asked for my ID for the birthday discount. I’m guessing she had to so see Ashley regarding the discount because after the bill was brought to us Ashley came by saying “you didn’t tell me it was your Birthday”. I guess that was our manager visit. We were never asked if anyone else wanted dessert. We left there saying we are not coming back and went to Culver’s for ice cream. Funny thing a employee at Culver’s stopped at our table and wanted to know how our ice cream was and if we needed anything. I just expected much more from Ruth Chris Steak House .
